How Long is Recovery from Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation?

Most patients recover from fat-transfer breast augmentation in about a week. The new breasts heal within three days, but the liposuction site may take longer to recover. For those who have more fat removed, your recovery may take longer. 

Bruising may last up to three weeks, and Dr. Coville does not recommend exercising until after the bruising fades. Most patients choose to take a week or two off from work. Complete healing, however, takes up to six weeks. 

What Results Can I Expect from Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation?

One of the main benefits of fat transfers for breast augmentation is the natural results. The symmetry and enhanced breast shape seamlessly fit your natural appearance, boosting your confidence. 

Results last a lifetime, with final results settling in around six months after your procedure. We do not recommend using fat transfer if you want more dramatic breast enhancement. Most patients go up one or two cup sizes with fat transfer. For a more drastic increase, implants may better fit your breast augmentation procedure. 

Am I a Good Candidate for Breast Augmentation with Fat Transfer?

If you struggle with deflation in the breast area or asymmetrical breasts, you may be a good candidate for a fat transfer breast augmentation. Candidates must be in good overall health with realistic expectations.

Ideal candidates have small breasts with larger hips, but all body types can receive breast augmentation. If you do not have enough body fat for liposuction, struggle with obesity, or experience consistent weight fluctuations, you may not be a good candidate for breast augmentation with fat transfer.
